Nissan unveils Navara Stealth at Nampo

Nissan lifts covers off soon to be launched Navara Stealth

Nissan South Africa took advantage of the recent Nampo Harvest Day, to unveil the new Nissan Navara Stealth to the local market.

While exact details remain unconfirmed until the official launch in July, the Stealth will use the Navara’s reliable 2.5 DDTi engine and rugged ladder frame chassis while adopting bolder styling and a more purpose-built utility package that is better suited to the commercial vehicle sector.

The styling updates are set to include lower flanks that are adorned with unique Stealth decals. The Navara Stealth adopts the same blacked out look as its predecessor which includes the fitment of blacked out wheels.

The front bumper now features additional blacked out inserts giving it a beefier look and the red badge has been swapped out for a matte silver roundel.

The powerful 2.5-litre DDTi high-output diesel engine offers 140kW and 450Nm and a high torque output at low rpm ensures strong pulling power in demanding conditions.

The Stealth was developed based on commercial vehicle customer feedback and is set to address these needs in numerous ways. This includes a payload capacity that tops a tonne, power and traction that can handle climbs with a heavy load, suspension that can navigate washboard roads while retaining cabin comfort and sturdy, reliable electronic features.

The Navara meets each of these demands and more, while the Stealth improves on style and general feel for an even more comfortable, premium feel and all-terrain capabilities.

Building on previous success

The previous iteration of the Nissan Navara Stealth enjoyed great success in the South African market. That model was equipped with a number of design updates to make it an even more rugged, redefined version of the well-loved Navara.

Standard silver and chrome detailing made way for black trims, while newly added orange accents on the grille and front bumper, side mirrors and side steps, gave that Navara a character that was both edgy and bold. On that model the two-tone colouration was also carried through to the interior, with seats featuring black leather side holsters and orange material inserts.
